Cathedral Choir
The Cathedral Grammar School is New Zealand's only Choir School and has educated every chorister since the Christ Church Cathedral opened in 1881. The choristers bring a special character to the School and music is an important aspect of the programme for all students. Initial enquiries about the Probationary programme which gives entry to the Cathedral Choir should be made to the Headmaster. Auditions for the Choir are held as required. The preferred age range for boys entering the Choir is eight to nine years old.
The Cathedral Choir Administrator usually communicates directly with the families of choristers, but here you will locate copies of all notices sent out by the Cathedral to members of the choir. In addition, other information about events affecting choristers will be located here.
