Hagley Park Tennis Club

For any pupils wishing to play competitive tennis on Saturdays and who do not already belong to their local tennis clubs, the school has a long-standing link with Hagley Park Tennis Club.

The Junior Administrator of the Hagley Park Tennis Club is Mrs Janine Tyler.

The club coach is Hugo Nurse-Strang.

CLUB OPEN DAY

Saturday 3 September 2017

Breaking news! This summer Hagley Park Tennis Club has been joined by Te Kura Tennis Club, and Te Kura’s Hugo Nurse-Strang has taken over the head coach’s role.

All players – new and current members – are invited to the Club Open Day on Saturday 3 September. Interclub juniors are welcome to participate in any of the Hot Shots coaching and the adult activities if they can play well enough.

Club Day Schedule

12:30 - 2:00pm         Casual BBQ

1:00 - 1:45pm           Tennis Hot Shots Coaching with a red, orange and green court.

                                  Hugo plus at least two helpers. 

1:00 - 3:45pm           Senior organized social play (including visitors) on four courts

1:45-2:05pm              Demonstration: Hugo will run drills with some of our best junior

                                  players to give spectators an idea of the club’s pathway from

                                  beginner to high, nationally ranked player. 

2:00 - 3:30pm           Hot Shots Community play – red court only (Tim on lawns), for

                                  ages 5-8 years

2:15-3:00pm             Tennis Xpress with Hugo (like Ezy tennis), where adult beginner

                                  players can try for free.

3:00-3:45pm             Cardio Tennis with Hugo. Free for anyone to try up to a

                                  maximum of 8 players, so first serve on the day (plays to music) 

3:45pm                      Afternoon tea in the clubhouse (members, please bring a plate)
