Orchestra
The Cathedral Grammar School Orchestra is open to all pupils of the Prep and Junior Schools who play an orchestral instrument at about the Grade One level and higher.
Pupils should be competent readers and enjoy working with other musicians.
While our range of instruments changes from year to year, the balance and number has remained consistently between forty and fifty, with strengths in all four areas of players - strings, woodwind, brass and percussion.
The orchestra aims to perform at least once every term at a Performers' Evening or to the school. We have also performed at Prizegiving or as guests in the community.
The Orchestra meets for 50 minutes on Thursdays from 12.50pm until 1.40pm.
If you would like to be considered for a place in the Orchestra, talk to the Head of Music, Mrs Dodgshun.
